My passion is the telling of the tale. To listen until I understand completely. My favorite form of storytelling is one on one, and to get the most out of that experience the listener must put all his personal issues aside and heed the storyteller as if he were an Oracle. I have made an enormous effort in my life to learn how to listen properly. This is a difficult thing to do, and I spent four years in a bachelor’s program, seminar after seminar, learning how to hone the art. But, for a man like myself, who admittedly fights to keep his ego and personal opinions at bay, It’s always a struggle to retain an objective ear.
But, I find the discipline to put my own feeling and needs aside in an effort to help you with your problems and issues that lie within your story. This can be a wonderful process.
Sometimes there comes a cathartic moment. A moment where we both come to an understanding, and within that understanding, you gain more insight and knowledge just by verbalizing your personal thoughts to another person. There are things that you will think of and say to the listener that you may not have said if you were thinking of those same things silently in your own mind.
